NKC 2024

Welcome to NKC 2024

Renowned for its friendly atmosphere and excellent value, NKC, now in its 8th year, is back. 2024 brings new tracks, new classes and the return of the regional Southern and Northern cups.

NKC is a national kart racing championship taking place over six rounds at six different circuits across England with a special ‘O’ plate event in July open to all drivers.

We have classes for Juniors and Seniors in Rotax and TKM and KZ.

Drivers are strictly limited to TWO SETS OF SLICKS for the whole championship (other than KZ) which along with low entry fees, makes NKC the best value owner driver national karting championships in the UK.

Costs

NKC was created to be the most affordable owner driver national championships in the UK which we achieve by keeping tyre use tightly regulated (2 sets for the season) and entry fees as low as possible.

There are now two ways of paying for your race entry.

  1. The usual pay-as-you-go (PAYG) way. Pay your registration fee (which includes first race entry) and then enter the rounds as you go through the 2024 season as normal.
  2. Subscribe to NKC 2024. Your subscription includes all your race entries, race tyres, registration and your practice fees (if you take the full package) plus a small discount. NKC will take care of all your entries and tyre orders so you just need to turn up at each round ready to race.

Drivers choosing either of the subscriptions will need to make the initial payment at time of registration. The remaining 9 payments will be taken from 1st January 2024 with the final payment being taken on 1st September 2024. Your first set of tyres will be shipped ready for Round 1 and the second set ready for Round 4. The subscription can be cancelled at any time. If cancelled, you will be eligible to race in the round of the month of your last payment. If you decide to race later on in the same season, you will revert to the standard PAYG prices. The O plate is excluded from the subscription pricing.

No refunds are available for both PAYG or subscription unless the events do not run.

Tier 2 membership

Due to high demand in our Rotax classes we’ve now closed full membership for the 2024 season. However, we are pleased to offer a new Tier 2 membership for Rotax classes only.

Tier 2 members are eligible for championship points and are able to enter from 3 weeks before each event, subject to there being a space on the grid. The maximum grid size will vary from event to event depending on local rules. It’s very difficult to accurately predict the demand for each event, but we are confident there will be places available for Tier 2 drivers at most, if not all of them.

In the unlikely event that we are unable to offer you any places, you will be eligible for a full refund of your registration fee at the end of the season.

The price for Tier 2 membership is £50 per driver.

Nick, Joe and the team at Karting Live TV have become integral to the race weekend with their paddock walks on Saturday and race day live stream and commentary so we’re very pleased to welcome them back for 2024.

What is a Tier 2 member?2024-02-07T21:09:17+00:00

Due to high demand in our Rotax classes we’ve now closed full membership for the 2024 season. However, we are pleased to offer a new Tier 2 membership for Rotax classes only.

Tier 2 members are eligible for championship points and are able to enter from 3 weeks before each event, subject to there being a space on the grid. It’s very difficult to accurately predict the demand for each event, but we are confident there will be places available for Tier 2 drivers at most, if not all of them.

The price for Tier 2 membership is £50 per driver.

Why can’t I subscribe?2024-02-06T14:19:06+00:00

The option to subscribe was only open in 2023. You can still register for the full championship in Senior TKM. Rotax classes can join as a Tier 2 member.

Who is the subscription suitable for?2023-10-13T11:15:30+01:00

The subscription will work for any drivers planning on doing the full 2024 season.

Why are you offering a subscription?2023-10-12T21:26:48+01:00

The subscription options are completely optional. It’s a new initiative that can help both NKC and its drivers. It helps drivers by giving a simple way to spread the cost of the season, automatically enters them in to races and orders tyres and gives a small discount over the course of the season. It helps NKC by having drivers commit to the 2024 season.

How will privateer trophies work?2023-10-11T10:05:31+01:00

The top privateer in each class at each round in 2024 will receive a trophy. Full details of what denotes a privateer will be released in the final 2024 regulations.

Extra classes have been added, does this mean more heats on Saturdays?2024-01-05T15:08:33+00:00

No, track time will be the same as or better than 2023. We will confirm how this will be achieved once we have a better idea of numbers.

Can I just do the Northern or Southern Cup?2023-10-10T21:32:27+01:00

Yes. The registration fee is still required in full.

How do dropped scores work?2024-01-05T15:10:00+00:00

Every driver will drop their 3 lowest scoring heats and 1 lowest scoring final from their championship points tally in the main six round championships. There will be no dropped rounds in the Northern & Southern Cups.

Yes, you can still register up to and including Round 5.

What is the format for the racing?2022-09-20T07:04:10+01:00

Do I have to run a drop-down nosecone?2023-10-10T21:18:59+01:00

Yes – all classes now need to run a drop-down nosecone other than KZ.

What do I get for my registration fee?2023-10-12T21:21:22+01:00

The registration fee registers you for the 2024 championship and includes entry to your first race at NKC 2024 (credit will be applied to your Alpha account). Only registered drivers can race with NKC.

What tyres do I have to use for practice sessions?2021-11-15T09:43:34+00:00

No.

Can I hire a transponder?2022-09-16T20:26:54+01:00

Yes, normally. However we encourage you to buy your own transponder as it is cheaper in the long run and as transponders are limited, you may end up having to share. Transponder hire costs £15.

Which transponder do I need?2022-09-16T20:27:38+01:00

You will need the AMB yellow / MyLaps transponder.

How do you monitor tyre usage?2023-10-10T21:30:13+01:00
