NKC is a national kart racing championship taking place over 6 rounds at 6 different circuits, for drivers aged 16 and over. Following 2 successful years using the TKM BT82 engine, for 2019 we have added an additional Rotax Max class. National IKR karting at its best.
The key difference from other championships is drivers are limited to just ONE single set of slick race tyres for the whole championship saving £100s over a season.
- ONE set of slicks for whole championship
- Visiting some of the top circuits in the UK
- £20 registration fee
- Senior TKM or Senior Rotax
- £120 per round including Saturday testing and race day Sunday
- No MSA licence required
Here is the calendar for NKC 2019!
The championship winner will be the driver who has scored the most points from their best five rounds.
As well as the main championship, this year we are running two additional competitions, the Southern Cup and the Northern Cup. A separate championship table will be published and a trophy (Cup!) will be awarded to the winner of each.
All existing competitors will automatically be enrolled into both cups although those who only want to race in either the Southern or Northern are very welcome. The usual NKC regulations apply.
There are no drop rounds for the Southern or Northern Cups.
For 2019, NKC have chosen the popular Maxxis HG1 slick tyre, which has been used successfully in endurance and multi-meeting sprint applications in the UK making it ideal for NKC. Wet tyres will remain as Mitas SRW.
Only tyres purchased from NKC may be used in the championship races. There is no restriction on tyres used in practice sessions.
Tyres will be available to purchase in February 2019.
Registration for the 2019 championship is now closed.
