With the hype of summer starting to dwindle, we look forward to part 2 of our season and what a second half we have lined up! The mighty Glan-Y-Gors kicks off in just a little over 2 weeks. After that, we head back to Wales for round 5 at Llandow. To round off the double header of events in October, the speedway that is Clay Pigeon see us out for the thunderous finale!

But what’s happened so far?

Good question! Its been a while since most of us saw a kart so let’s have a quick look back at some highlights.

The flagship that started the NKC, TKM, has given us some brilliant close racing. A standout drive at Fulbeck in changing conditions by Rob Wallace ensured a supreme victory in what was otherwise a lottery. Rob became the 3rd winner to take a chequered in 3 races leaving the championship wide open! the Top 3 covered by just 15 points. Louis Beaven takes top spot on 242 points. Pete Newman is hot on his heels with 237 and Rob Wallace, 227.

In Senior Rotax, a well calculated and executed drive by Si Keeble at Whilton Mill saw him out for an easy Sunday drive as he took a lights to flag victory in the final by a whopping 5 seconds. Senior Rotax is super competitive at the moment though as the next 2 rounds were taken by 2 other drivers leaving that gap at the top of the table level with Tom Storrar and Harry Wainwright tying on 211 points. Si Keeble lurks just 9 points behind with 202.

In Rotax 177 we’ve seen the rise of Adam Haines who after a ‘years sabbatical’ has bagged 2 wins and a 3rd on his return to racing. Some outstanding performances especially at Lydd where he spent the last few laps fending off the attentions of a hungry Alfie Williams who wanted to cap off his day with a back to back win in the final to match his pre final success. Adam tops the table with 346 points with Kyle Bryant closely following on 336 with Alfie Williams further back on 304.

It’s been a fantastic season across all 3 classes so far and we look forward to getting back trackside to see out its conclusion all of which will take place with 3 races over 7 weeks to find our 3 champions of 2021! So let’s get going… to GYG!

Entries for GYG close on Friday so still time to get your entry in.
