NKC Tyre rule
- One set of slicks for Rounds 1 & 2.
- One set of slicks for Rounds 3 & 4.
- One set of slicks for Rounds 5 & 6.
- Tyre softeners are strictly prohibited.
We take the tyre rule seriously to maintain fair, affordable racing. All tyres are scanned, and we use advanced technology to detect tampering. Drivers found using softeners or non-compliant tyres will be excluded.
Drivers must arrive at the dummy grid with the correct (laser-etched) tyres. Races will not be delayed for tyre changes.
Full tyre regulations can be found here along with rules on drivers that are unable to compete in every round.
Tip: Mark tyres with a paint pen and store them in a dedicated tyre bag to avoid confusion.
Tyre registration
Tyres are scanned when you collect them at Round 1, which takes only a few seconds. This process will be repeated at rounds 3 and 5.
Looking after your tyres
It is your responsibility to look after your tyres.
Dartford Karting will be checking every tyre to ensure they are the correct circumference and looking for any problems before they arrive at the track.
- Inspect your tyres at the collection window before leaving.
- Use only tyre soap during fitting to avoid tyre sniffer detection issues.
- Over-inflated tyres will not be accepted for returns.
If needed, NKC has tyre fitting bands available to borrow.

Tyre damage and reporting
Drivers must inspect their tyres in parc ferme after each race. If damage occurs during an incident, it must be reported immediately to scrutineering for assessment.
Failure to report damage or the use of unapproved tyres may result in disqualification.
